It's coming up to that time of year when we brew our Christmas beer, The Pfeffernüsse Saison. This year we’ve had a great idea to make this year's bottle a little bit more special and embrace the spirit of the season, and for this we’ll need your help!
We are looking for a Pfeffernüsse Saison Christmas Poem that sings the praises of the beer and invokes the spirit of Christmas. We're asking customers, staff, shareholders and the world at large to pen their own Pfeffernüsse Saison poems and enter them into our competition for the poem on the label.
The plan is that after the entry period has expired a shortlist of 3 entries will be circulated to shareholders who will vote on the best festive poem and that will then go onto the beer. The three shortlisted authors will receive a Christmas pack (including a bottle of this years Pfeffernüsse Beer) and the overall winner will win a case of Pfeffernüsse, the pack, see their winning poem on this year's beer label AND get a special reading of the poem at our Annual Christmas Carol Concert (Dec 6th - save the date).
So what will it look like?
We're looking for a poem only 450 Characters long (that's about 65 words). It will be based on evoking Christmas and our wonderful Christmas Beer, the details of which are:
The Pfeffernüsse Saison is Anspach & Hobday’s Christmas beer! It is inspired by the traditional tasty German Christmas 'peppernut' biscuit of the same name. Our seasonal special is an amber saison style brewed with candied sugar and spiced with: ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and black pepper. These Christmas spices come together with the saison to give a wonderful biscuity, spicy and festive flavour - it is Christmas in a glass!
