“Hi I am Caspar, the latest member of the Anspach & Hobday sales team. This is the first in a blog series about our range of classic beers. First up:
The Table Beer
Ah The Table Beer, perfect for all seasons in my humble opinion. This beer is a personal favorite for BBQ’s. Want to spice up your BBQ beans? Add The Table Beer. Or spice up your BBQ sausages? Braise in The Table Beer before you let them be licked by the flame. Fancy a beer with lots of flavour yet restrained ABV? The Table Beer is appropriate. This beer is an instant cooler classic.
Although what is a Table Beer? Does it have to be enjoyed on a table? If I put it on a chair will the world implode? These are the real questions. In reality Table Beer is a style of beer that was historically predominant in France and Belgium starting around the 1800’s, simply a beer for everyone at the table to have. This means a beer for sustanance, refreshement, a beer without the alcoholic punch of bigger beers.
Is it Yummy?
With background notes of lemon and spice from the Hallertau Blanc used in our recipe, this beer really can be enjoyed by all, in addition with its low ABV; I dare you to tell me what’s a better way to ease myself into dry January. With a comeback as hot as Abba, this beer will take you on a voyage of the senses as traditional beer styles are back in full force.
The Table Beer pays homage to it’s heritage roots with a modern English revamp. An incredibly versatile beer that is all about sharing with friends and family at any gathering. With a pillowy mouthfeel and the subtle bitterness and lychee of the Jester hop, The Table Beer has a lot going on but is very well balanced like a tug of war competition with yourself - not like how Thanos thought he’d bring balance to the galaxy in the world renowned docu series by Marvel.
Why Table Beer?
Do you ever have those days when you feel flustered for choice? Even brewers, craft beer slingers and beer sommeliers have those days. The options are endless and sometimes overwhelming, even for seasoned veterans. This is when the journey to the old faithfuls, the safe zone, be it the local boozer where the natives are hesitant to make eye contact or the offy for a tinny. This is where The Table Beer comes in, it is just that easy to drink. All the fun with minimal hassle.
